Since 2002, CASPA has been a vital support network for autistic individuals, fostering a welcoming community where they can learn, connect, and thrive.
About Us
In 2002, a group of parents organised a small social club for their teenage children in a local church hall and CASPA was born. From the start, it was a place where autistic young people could connect with others and take part in activities, where they could feel truly accepted and supported.
CASPA expanded from a single youth group to the thriving, welcoming community that it is today, starting traditions like our summer residentials and opening more clubs providing a lifeline through the pandemic and coming out as strong as ever.
CASPA provides opportunities to build true friendships, have enriching experiences and develop a range of life skills in an environment that embraces our member’s individuality and supports their needs. We also partner with other organisations in the wider community and deliver training to help build more understanding and acceptance of neurodivergence.
About Autism
Autism is a complex neurotype and dynamic disability that impacts how an individual experiences the world, communicates, processes sensory input, organises their life and activities, and develops interests and passions.
Autistic individuals face many challenges and barriers in mainstream education, public spaces, and employment. This increases the risk of isolation and negatively impacts their self-esteem, health and general wellbeing.
We support and encourage autistic individuals to discover and feel proud of their exceptional attributes, unique perspectives, talents, and ability to focus deeply and share specialist knowledge on the things that interest them.
Clubs and Services
CASPA has grown to support for over 500 autistic individuals in and around Bromley through our toddlers play group, after-school and evening clubs for all ages, holiday activities and trips (including our popular summer residentials), life skills workshops.
From feeding curiosity with sensory activities to self-expression though performing arts, getting active with exercise, or fostering team spirit at our football sessions, there is fun and connection to be had.
We also offer outreach services to families and promote understanding and inclusion through our training programmes and advocacy work with the aim to help autistic individuals overcome barriers to access and promote autistic voice in the decisions that affect their lives.
