CASPA encourages autistic pride, self-advocacy, life skills and safe, inclusive community connections with the aim to build a society in which autistic people feel understood and empowered to be their full self and live their best life. 

We are recruiting for an experienced Employment and Transition Mentor to work closely with Autistic/neurodivergent individuals aged 16 to 25 residing in the Bromley borough, to enable skills which will assist them in overcoming barriers to employment and achieving their vocational goals. 

This role involves assessment, guidance, and advocacy to ensure that each student reaches their maximum potential. 

In partnership with the London Borough of Bromley, this new unique role has been developed as part of an exciting pilot project funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to support autistic/neurodivergent students to transition from school into further training or permanent paid employment. 

The successful candidate will provide training and workshops to participants and their support networks to enhance understanding and coping skills. In addition, the role will be required to provide training for other stakeholders (employers and other organisations) to raise awareness and ensure they understand the needs of the participants. 

Salary Band: £ 30.000 – £32,000 per annum FTE (depending on experience)

Contract Type: 9 months fixed term contract (with potential to extend subject to funding)

Reports To: CEO

Working Pattern: 21 hours per week (Mondays to Fridays)

Location:Oakley House, Bromley (Mondays and Tuesdays). Remote working (Wednesdays to Fridays). With frequent travel in Bromley, as required. Potential attendance may be required at events and meetings outside regular working hours on an ad hoc basis.

The ideal candidate is a resilient, solution-focused person, able to work efficiently on their own initiative and collaboratively within a team. They are an empathetic listener and enjoys supporting others to achieve their best and thrive.

We are looking out for a team member with a proactive and person-centred approach when communicating with internal and external stakeholders, who takes pride in the quality of their work and is keen to learn and develop in their role.     

They will ideally also have an understanding of CASPA’s key work areas, and/or experience of working in a caring environment and providing a range of practical and virtual support to neurodivergent people 

We are particularly keen to attract those with lived experience of neurodivergence and believes in the importance of nurturing a diverse team who reflect our values.
