This dynamic, caring charity has been supporting children, young people and adults with Autism and who are neurodivergent since 2004 and continues to grow. Activity Support Staff

At CASPA social clubs and specialist activity programmes for children, young people and adults across the Borough of Bromley. Running and supporting activities from sports to drama to art etc in small group settings and supporting autistic people to engage in positive activities that facilitate development and social connection.

Flexible, variable hours, mostly after school, weekends and during school holidays (would suit Teaching Assistants, youth workers or Teaching staff).

£10-£15 per hour.

 

Job Advert - Café Assistant – Community Café

CASPA is a charity working to support people on the Autism Spectrum and with other social & communication difficulties and their families primarily through the delivery of programmes which are designed to increase social & communication skills, independent living skills, employability skills and confidence amongst the client group as well as providing support for families and carers.

Due to our growth and expansion plans we are looking to recruit a Café Assistant (Part Time) 

The idea candidate will assist with the daily running of the CASPA Community Café and Kitchen to the highest possible customer service whilst empathetic to the vision, values and strategic aims of the Charity.

The Café Assistant will support the safety and wellbeing of all kitchen and cafe staff, volunteers and customers as well as assisting in the running of the day-to-day food production elements of the café. The Café Assistant will be jointly responsible for ensuring high standards of food hygiene and health and safety are maintained at all times. The Café Assistant will work closely with the Café Manager and management team to ensure a coordinated approach to delivering exceptional services in the Café.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • 1 years + previous experience of successfully implementing and delivering catering and serving in a Café or restaurant.
  • Level 1 & 2 food hygiene
  • An individual that prides themselves on exceptional customer service.
  • Good relationship building skills to maintain good relationships with all the customer both outside and within the community building.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Level 3 food hygiene (can undertake this once employed if not already achieved)
  • Supervisory experience would be useful and a customer service role is key as well as experience in the food and drink industry.
  • Barista experience would benefit.
  • Experience of working in a community café
  • Experience of EPOS tilling system
  • Working with or knowledge of Autism and neurodiverse people and/or those with disabilities

Work shifts: Tuesday 9am-2pm, Wednesday 11-4pm Friday 10pm–3pm.

Hours: 14hrs a week – Part time

Salary: Circa £7500.00 + Pension/Sickness Holiday Pay

You may be required to cover other hours depending on event bookings and to cover holiday and sickness. The café opens at 8.30am so some 7.30am starts will be required agreed in advance.

Trustees

We are looking for volunteers to join our Board of Trustees who ensure strong governance and leadership within the organisation, working closely with our CEO and Director of Operations. Particular skills and experience including in law, finance, safeguarding, health & safety and charity management would be welcomed, but more vitally we need individuals with a passion to improve opportunities for autistic people and who would be committed to supporting the CASPA Staff to deliver inspirational services.

Commitment – minimum of four Board meetings per year.
