Our news - find out what CASPA is up to!

Zero to hero Fab House

Being a parent of an autistic child brings with it unique beauty and challenge.  At CASPA we have over 500 families accessing our services in the London Borough of Bromley, all of whom need alot of individualised support.  Our goal is always to connect people, to create communities which can support each other through the tough times and celebrate together when things are working out well!! The CASPA Parent/Carer support group provides essential spaces for our parents/carers where they can discuss and explore the challenges and isolation they face as well as share solutions, successes and just feel understood; a very powerful thing. We have a parent/carer whatsapp group with over 120 parents/carers on, a closed member Facebook page, a bi-weekly Zoom support session in the evening and we run a number of face-to-face support sessions including a weekly drop-in at our CASPA Community Cafe and various workshops, walks and activities. Parents of our under 5s have a weekly hour group session whilst our staff care for their children at CASPA Tots. In the summer of 2021 we were able to run a fabulous afternoon tea event bringing the parents together for some much-needed 'Me Time'!

The Axis Funding has enabled us to provide physical space, refreshments and resources to support this wonderful programme and we are extremely grateful for their generous donation.  As a small charity working with hundreds of families, we have to continually fundraise to ensure our services can keep going.  This kind of support is invaluable and helps us to provide much-needed moral and practical support to those most in need.  Our parents/carers agree, as is testified to here:

" CASPA have gone above and beyond to ensure that us as parents were able to stay connected and supported.  This has been a lifeline for us. This service has definitely saved my sanity" (CASPA Parent)

"‚ÄčCASPA has not only supported our children but educated us as parents too. Their endless, contagious and boundless energy makes CASPA such a positive place to be for both children and parents/carers." (CASPA Parent)

Love acting?  Could you help create scenery?  Interested in stage lighting or sound?  Want a chance to use your talents? Want to get involved in Theatre?

CASPA and Bromley Little Theatre (BLT) are forming an exciting new partnership!

We are very pleased to have been working with Bromley Little Theatre in recent weeks to identify some ways in which we can work together and provide our CASPA children, young people and families with opportunities to access the wonderful creative spaces and people at BLT.

Thank you Time Tang
